Win free ‘Hedwig’ tickets from Project Q Atlanta

imageWhy settle for an inch when you deserve a mile? “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” is back in Atlanta, and while its hero rocks through the inch she’s dealt, Project Q Atlanta goes the extra mile so that you can enjoy the show for free.

The rock musical phenom is back in Atlanta each Thursday and Sunday at Spring 4th Center through Aug. 8. One of three pairs of free tickets can be yours courtesy Horrible Children Productions and director Michael Harrison.

Winners can choose which night—again, Thursday or Sunday through Aug. 8—that they want to attend. Zach Solomon (photo) stars in the title role made famous by the show’s creator John Cameron Mitchell.

For those who’ve been living under a rock, the show follows Hedwig, who in order to escape Cold War-era East Germany and hang onto her American GI, undergoes a botched male-to-female bottom surgery, leaving her with the titular “Angry Inch.”

Now in the U.S. and ultimately without her man, Hedwig is an “internationally ignored” rock star who, along with her aptly named band The Angry Inch, happens to put on one hell of a show. The “Hedwig” soundtrack by composer Stephen Trask is regarded among the best rock musical scores.

Breaking the “fourth wall” of the stage each night, the musical is presented as if you are at one of the band’s concerts, all the while rocking your socks off and slyly sucking you into its heart-wrenching, brilliantly conceived story.

Yes, yes. So how do you get one of our three pairs of tickets to see it for free? Easy. Leave a comment below this post telling us why you deserve to win.

Be sure to include why you love the show, your favorite “Hedwig” moments and songs, or any personal story that might convince us to toss the tickets your way. Never seen it but are dying to? That’s cool, too; we want your best sob story.

When commenting, pick any user name and include your valid e-mail address in the login box. Your e-mail is not visible in the post, and we will never share it with anyone.

We’ll send the winners an e-mail to confirm, and your tickets will be waiting with your name at the Will Call desk at the show.

Then just sit back, relax and be our guest.
