Rainbow monster Atlanta Pride has its sites on Midtown and organizers of this weekend's big gay festival appeared on 11 Alive to brag that yeah, girl, they are such size queens and you're going to like it.
Never mind the flap about Friday's kickoff party. Or the meningitis. Organizers Buck Cooke, Pride's executive director, and Pride board chair Glen Paul Freedman bragged about just how big the event is, the crowd it draws and its economic impact, the entertainment lineup and how to have fun through it all. That means drink plenty — of what was up to debate. Watch the highlights in the video above.
It all came during a Monday interview with “Atlanta & Company's” Christine Pullara on 11Alive, which will again broadcast Sunday's parade live on its website.
Pride officials also stressed that it's a free festival. Except for this. And they took a subtle shot at the Midtown Music Festival, which thanks to 50,000 fans and a day of rain, left Piedmont Park a big, trashy mess just weeks ahead of Pride.
