The Wear White After Memorial Day rule is in full effect, but gay Atlanta makes it official on Saturday at Premiere Party, the annual CHRIS Kids benefit of white attire, a silent auction and flowing cocktails.
The event, billed as a kick-off to summer, takes place Saturday at Mason Murer Fine Art. It traditionally packs the house while filling the coffers for CHRIS Kids, a statewide program that helps underprivileged children and their families. Funds raised at Premiere Party are earmarked specifically for the agency’s LGBT youth and young adult clients.
Last year (view photos), Premiere Party attracted 550 people and raked in $55,000. Attendees help the cause not only with their entry fee, but get even more for their donations with bids on items in a silent auction, an open bar, and the beats of DJ Vicki Powell behind the turntable.
The final ingredient is you – looking fabulous in white, of course. Online ticket sales end Thursday at a $40 general admission price. After that, you can still buy $50 general admission or $125 VIP tickets at the door.
