What’s inside Atlanta’s gay glossies

imageThe first week of the month is a fun time for readers of Atlanta’s gay glossies. That’s when all three — David Atlanta, Pocket Rocket and Gaydar — offer fresh issues.

David, of course, brings us fresh material every week, with the others weighing in less frequently. Here’s a rundown on the latest offerings:

David goes with music as its lead for the May 7 issue, focusing on Depeche Mode’s new disc. Inside is a quick Q&A with Martin Gore, the group’s chief songwriter. The mag also gives us a peak inside Mixx, a new club set to open in Ansley Square sometime this month.

There’s also a piece on Kevin Grangier, the first gay millionaire featured on Bravo’s “The Millionaire Matchmaker,” Topher Payne’s long-distance letter to his special lady and plenty of nightlife pics.

Our Bitch of the Week:

It’s Toco Hills not Taco Hills you dumb Craigslist missed connection faggots!

imagePocket Rocket goes with a spring feel for its fourth monthly cover and offers up an issue packed with photos, a bar guide and tips on where to eat. We’re also pleased to say that it’s the first issue with a Project Q Atlanta photo page.

Gaydar’s most recent issue features Alan Penrod, who recently won Mr. Atlanta Eagle 2009. The mag also offers brief profiles of a trio of bartenders, plenty of bar pics and a few amusing rants in its “WTF!” column. We’d show you the cover, but like last month, it’s not yet on the mag’s website.
