Some 120 swimmers filled the pools of the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center last Saturday for the St. Nick’s Swim Meet, hosted by the gay swim group Atlanta Rainbow Trout. The short course meters competition – meaning events were run in 25-meter lanes instead of the standard 50 meters – included the setting of three national and three world records. About 20 of the swimmers were members of the Trout, which took third place overall. More photos are included in my Southern Voice column this week.
