You might think on the weekend after Fourth of July, gay Atlanta would slow its roll. Not a chance. Sunday’s Boardwalk T-Party for Cotillion takes us to Atlantic City, and other parties with a purpose keep us plenty busy.
Weekends really are just a mini-vacays, right?
Don’t you feign malaise, silly. Admit you’ll be rarin’ to go, and just put on your board shorts, sunglasses and flip-flops. It’s time for one of the things LGBT Atlantans do best: put our cocktail dollars toward doing good in the neighborhood.
The fun to be had at the On the Boardwalk Party on Sunday at Shout! isn’t just all in a name. This year’s Atlanta Cotillion debs and the whole Cotillion gang raising money for AID Atlanta pull out all the stops to make this T-dance something special. Think psychic readings,? temporary tattoos,? chair massages,? Sno Cones and ice cream.
OK, since this is Atlanta, not Jersey—and organizers are gay, not crazy—DJ Todd Skelton will pump out the beats, and drink specials and hors d’oeuvres are on tap. Natch.
Following suit with events that give you a good time as well as really good justification for letting loose—“It’s for charity, girl!”—are a few other special events you might check out.
