HATE CRIMES: An hour-long session at YouthPride will focus on hate crimes, how they affect behavior and their link to HIV/ADS. “Hate Crimes: Vocalizing Our Fears” is part of AID Atlanta’s Prominent Outgoing Opinion Leaders program, which focuses on gay and bisexual men. The program begins at 5 p.m. at YouthPride’s Edgewood Avenue office.
QUEER FICTION: “Three Junes” by Julia Glass (photo) is up for discussion today at the Queer Literary Fiction Book Group at Charis Books & More. The group meets on the fourth Wednesday to discuss books that feature queer characters and storylines.
DO I HEAR?: The Atlanta Pride Committee continues its series of community events today with its “Date Auction” at Bazzaar. Six eligible bachelors and bachelorettes will be auctioned off to help raise funds for the non-profit group that stages the annual Pride festival. Entry is free and the event begins at 9 p.m. Bazzaar’s Deconstruction Drag Show follows the Pride event.
