WOW WEDNESDAY: The Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce kicks off its popular quarterly event with a panel of financial experts available to discuss ways to reach financial success even during a recession. The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency-Downtown. $10-$15

BINGO: Join Bubba D. Licious (photo) and the good folks at Pets Are Loving Support for their monthly fundraiser. The theme for the event, which opens at 6:30 p.m. at the Wild Mustang, is Good ol’ Gospel Bingo. $20

EXPLORING GENDERS: It’s time to explore gender identity and representation with a monthly book group at Charis Books & More. The topic for this month: “Intersex (For Lack of a Better Word)” Thea Hillman. The group gets started at 7 p.m.

SKEETER RETURNS: Author Kathryn Stockett stops in at Outwrite Coffeehouse & Bookstore at 7:30 p.m. to read from and sign “The Help,” the story of three women whose determination to start a movement of their own changes a town.
