Violet Chachki nails ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ debut

Gay Atlanta's own Violet Chachki opened Season 7 of “RuPaul's Drag Race” on Monday with a commanding performance, the sass we love and a viewing party packed with her fans at Mary's.

Chachki dominated the season opener and 13 competitors with her trademark fashion, flair and confidence, impressing RuPaul and judges Kathy Griffin, Carson Kressley and Ross Matthews when push came to shove on the runway. She nailed the opening two-piece fashion show – work that tartan eleganza, girl! – and the “nude illusion” main challenge, winning accolades from RuPaul, who named her the winner.

And when it came to throwing out some bitch in the workroom, the 22-year-old queen nails that, too.

“I'm jealous. I don't have any fat to push together,” she quips to Jaidynn Diore Fierce as the Nashville queen compares her big girl boobs with the other competitors. Check out her fashion and best moments from the show in the video above.

Chachki also served up deliciousness to supporters on Monday as Mary's hosted a “Drag Race” viewing party and as always, we're all over the bitch. She's the sixth Atlanta queen to compete in the show and is well on her way to making a deep run to match Trinity K. Bonet, who thrived and survived until episode 9 last season. Other Atlanta competitors have included Nicole Paige Brooks (Season 2, episode 2), Sonique (Season 2, episode 4), Phoenix (Season 3, episode 2) and Mariah (Season 3, episode 6).
