Newly unearthed security video apparently shows DeKalb Sheriff Jeffrey Mann being chased along a Midtown street by an Atlanta police officer who eventually arrested him after he was caught allegedly cruising for sex in Piedmont Park late Saturday.

WSB aired the video on Tuesday. It’s the latest twist in a case that continues to provide a slow drip of details since Mann was arrested Saturday. Armed with two condoms, the sheriff allegedly exposed himself and masturbated in front of an Atlanta police officer in an area of the park near 10th Street known for men seeking other men for sex.

When the officer identified himself, Mann allegedly fled. He led the officer on a quarter-mile chase along 10th Street and Argonne Avenue before surrendering after he stopped to tie his shoes, according to the arrest report.

A portion of the foot chase was captured on the security camera of a resident.

WSB also reported that Mann was using his county-issued vehicle when he was arrested.

The sheriff faces growing calls for him to step aside. The latest comes from the Georgia Sheriff’s Association, which is pressuring Gov. Nathan Deal to take action. Via WSB:

The Georgia Sheriff's' Association hand-delivered a letter to Gov. Nathan Deal on Tuesday morning asking him to appoint a team to investigate the sheriff. They want a team of two sheriffs and the attorney general to investigate Mann's criminal charges and report back to the governor within 30 days.

It could lead to a 60- to 90-day suspension, due to morality concerns. Deal has to make the call to start the process.

Mann has declined through his attorney to publicly discuss the arrest. Mann initially called the incident a misunderstanding.

UPDATE | Gov. Nathan Deal told the AJC on Wednesday that his office is considering the request from the sheriff's association.
