COMING OUT JOCK STYLE: Journalist turned novelist Bill Konigsberg (photo) appears at Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse at 7:30 p.m. to read and sign “Out of the Pocket.” Konigsberg talked with Project Q Atlanta ahead of his Atlanta stop about the origins of the book, which tells the story of a high school quarterback struggling with his sexual orientation.
HUMAN RIGHTS: Georgia Equality and other gay groups join a panel of progressive activists for a discussion entitled “From Prop 8 to Yogyakarta: LGBT Rights are Human Rights.” The event focuses on the connection between gay equality and the larger human rights struggle. The chat begins at 7 p.m.
DOGGIES CATWALK: The kick off party for the pet fashion fundraiser Doggies on the Catwalk takes place tonight at Tootsies in the Shops Around Lenox Shopping Center. The event runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and begins the build up to the larger fundraiser for Pets Are Loving Support on Jan. 16.
