The biggest gay holiday event in Atlanta psyched up some of its high-end donors for this year’s 9th Annual Toy Party & Silent Auction with a kickoff party on Thursday at Kai Lin Art.
While Toy Party’s 2011 corporate sponsors and donors of $250 or more noshed on hors d’oeuvres, mingled to music and downed cocktails amid the art of Kai Lin’s current “Snap” exhibit, organizers with the gay-founded For The Kid in All of Us talked up the Dec. 4 main event at AmericasMart 3.
Donors at the Thursday event also had the opportunity to lay down bids in advance on some of the luxurous silent auction items that will be up for final grabs at Toy Party. December’s main event is sure to draw thousands of gay holigays once again as it transforms AmericasMart 3 into a Winter Wonderland benefiting Georgia’s underprivileged children.
The cost for admission to Toy Party is an unwrapped new toy or a gift card valued at $25 or more. The donations go to 23 non-profit agencies that serve kids in need just in time for the holidays. Once you’re in, it’s all the complementary cocktails and food you can gobble up.
Just how big is Toy Party? It breaks its own records each year. For a visual, check out our festive galleries of photos from last year, from 2009, and the year before that.
