A CURE: The AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta holds its 19th annual food and wine tasting, otherwise known as Uncork A Cure. The event is the main fundraiser for ARCA and organizers hope to bring in about $75,000. 6 p.m.

LETTERS: Lamar Ariel (photo) stops at Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse to discuss and sign his new book, “Ready to Male.” Ariel’s first book is autobiographical fiction written in the form of letters. The work infuses elements of short-story and memoir writing styles to provide a snapshot of the writer’s ongoing journey to creatively examine rather than dismiss his personal thoughts. 7:30 p.m.

DISCUSS: Charis Books & More hosts a film screening of and discussion about “Kilowatt Ours,” a solutions-oriented look at a pressing environmental challenge. Filmmaker Jeff Barrie offers hope as he turns the camera on himself and asks, “How can I make a difference?” 7:30 p.m.

COCKTAILS: The guys behind Social Tuesdays branch out with Hydrate Thursdays at the W Midtown’s Living Room. The event kicks off at 9 p.m.

COCKTAILS II: Thursday Night Cocktail continues its successful run inside the downstairs bar at Trois. The drinks start pouring at 9:30 p.m.
