There’s nothing like an early start on the weekend. That’s the idea behind the Thursday Night Cocktail Sip in Gay Atlanta @ Trois, which brings an attractive crowd to a 14th Street-facing bar in the upscale restaurant.
The evening gets warmed up after 9 p.m., no thanks to half-price drinks until 10 p.m. — or in the case of last night, about 9:55 p.m. when we cozied up to the bar only to find that a mixologist argued that it was after 10 p.m despite the time on our Blackberry. Nonetheless, the cozy space was soon filled with a fun crowd.
The cocktail sip started in December as a way to inject a little life into Atlanta’s gay social scene by providing an early start to the weekend. Trois is an ideal fit, with its bar offering an aluminum floor, glass bar and sophisticated living room feel.
