BLOOD WORK: Gay artist Robert Sherer speaks to the Atlanta Executive Network. The Kennesaw State University art professor is well known for his “Blood Works,” which incorporates HIV-positive blood used as ink. LESBIAN DRAMA: Hundreds of lesbians are expected to catch a peek at the season premiere of Showtime’s “The L Word” during an event at the Wild Mustang. The evening, with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the show airing an our later, is one of dozens across the country sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign and the network. Suggested donation: $10.

SPOKEN WORD: Charis Books & More and Cliterati pair up for their monthly evening of open mic and reading to help cultivate the voices of authors, novices, poets and others. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

COCKTAILS: Ah, yes. The work week is nearly over. So why not get the weekend started early with the Thursday Night Cocktail Sip in Gay Atlanta. Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. at Trois. Tonight, the evening includes music from the Divas of Pop.
