Wild naughty Atlanta rapper J. Tyler is trying to make a splash. Jumping into hip hop as a gay white rapper might do it. Or performing with drag queens might be another hook. Cute doesn't hurt. Tyler hit Ruby's Tuesdays at Jungle on April 24 and took advantage of the open mic competition with "Wild N' Naughty." He returns on Tuesday and then a day later, takes the stage at LeBuzz. He's done gay-friendly Laughing Skull, too. His pitch is pretty simple. And audacious.
Justin Tyler Ellingwood (J. Tyler) is working to become the first openly gay white rapper in hip hop. With his quick-witted lyrics and his fast-paced rhythmic flow, J. Tyler is just moments away from making history. J. Tyler plans to break down the stereotypes of rapping. Lyrical genius to roadrunner rapping, J. Tyler will be the newest face of hip-hop.Fun but not first. Cazwell, anyone? Or this guy. [Video by Tristan Trenkle via]
