This cute gay Atlanta nurse wants to be a TV chef

When best gay bachelor John-Paul Griffin isn't delivering babies, the gay Atlanta nurse is cooking. For friends. For family. And he hopes for next season's "Food Network Star."

He cooked up an audition video for the show and submitted it with a just few days to spare. Now, he waits.

"I go from country to classy pretty darn fast," he says in the video before diving into a preparation of duck and kale.

The nearly three-minute video takes you into Griffin's small kitchen to watch him do his magic -- on an electric stove. You won't find that on "Chopped." Or the deer head on his kitchen wall.

The show begins taping Season 10 in January and airs beginning next summer. Does Griffin offer enough to overcome the cruse of Atlanta chefs who make it to the show, only to get booted before a winner is named? Stay tuned.
