Brides, grooms, fancy dress and cake. Always ones for tradition as much as rowdier affairs, Atlanta Pride held its annual mass commitment ceremony last week in advance of its festival in Piedmont Park.
The event went down on Thursday, its second year ahead of the festival and indoors, with a picaresque backdrop from the top floor of the W Atlanta Midtown Hotel. With gay marriage increasingly at the forefront of the LGBT consciousness, couples and their supporters suited up for the non-denominational ceremony, some for the first time and others as part of their yearly Pride commemoration.
