The Oct. 7 Pride at the High party took on the theme “Celebrity! Be Who You Want To Be” in honor of the museum’s current exhibit of paintings by Salvador Dali, the mustachioed artist who rubbed elbows with the glitterati.
The High got in on the action of a week chock-full of Pride parties in its own special way. With so many gay museum members and visitors throughout the year, they know their audience like any good celebrity.
So on Thursday, the eve of Atlanta Pride, costumed guests mingled among their own interpretations of celebrity looks, while others came as their own fabulous selves to dance, drink “Dali-tinis” and delight in Dali during a special after-hours look at the exhibit.
In addition to the glittering guests, the event featured local gay turntable tycoon DJay McCracken, CB2 Midtown shop-card give-a-ways, a celebrity look-alike contest and a surreal photo booth.
