Celebrating gay Atlanta legends and creating new ones are part and parcel of this week’s queer events in Atlanta. Get in on the action of plays, parties and performances this Friday through Sunday.

Friday, Dec. 10

MSR: Femme Friday. Women who love women who love two indoor levels of fun and outdoor parties too @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m. – 3 a.m.

Friday BBQ. Atlanta’s gay sports bar does in-person as well as to-go food and cocktails. Fridays are extra special with a taste-escape to backyard ‘cues @ Woofs, 11:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Vixen’s Christmas Bar. Spiked nog and cider, peppermint martinis and the gaudiest holiday décor in town call for an equally gaudy host. Vixen Claus is taking reservations @ Guac y Margys, all day, all month.

Feel It Friday. Drop in on a full day and night of anything goes. When the sun goes down, find DJ Mr. Richard on deck @ Hideaway, 2 p.m. – 3 a.m.

Golden Girls: Lost Episodes – Holiday Edition. Atlanta’s LGBTQ theater company finds your four favorite seniors in a hilarious holiday sendup with several fun twists @ Out Front Theatre, 8 p.m. Runs through Sunday, Dec. 19. Read our preview.

Invasion: Christmas Carol. What will you love more than an irreverent Christmas play? A tweaked version with a surprise “invader” you’d never expect @ Dad’s Garage Theatre, 8 p.m., through Dec. 29, extra gay on Dec. 17 for Pride Night.

Queen of the Universe. A drag competition with live singing and an inaugural cast including Atlanta’s own Aria Cassadine. Judges include Vanessa Williams, Graham Norton, Trixie Mattel and Michelle Visage @ New episodes Thursdays on VH1 & Paramount Plus.

Always Jane. This docuseries follows a trans teen through big changes with full support of her family. Streaming from today @ Prime Video, all month.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Atlanta’s only drag dinner and a show experience in the loungey surrounds of premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Fantasy Girls. Phoenix and Taejah Thomas headline two dinner-show experiences with Lala Ri, Trinity Bonet and Raquel Heart in the show bar @ Future, 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Atlanta Rainbow Trout Water Polo. The LGBTQ team practices every week @ Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, 7:30 p.m. Same again on Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m. First two practices free.

House of Legends. Drag, drinks, dancers and a DJ @ X Midtown, 10 p.m.

Madams of the Moonlight. Legendary queens doing legendary things @ Midtown Moon, 10 p.m.

DJ Karlitos Afterhours. Xion afterhours parties you from Friday night into Saturday morning. Bump and grind until sunup @ Future, 3 a.m.

Saturday, Dec. 11

Front Runners. One of two weekly group runs with Atlanta’s LGBTQ @ John Howell Park, 9 a.m.

Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of the party when the sun drops @ Mary’s, 2 p.m.

Glitz & Glam. Queens do dinner and a show in Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Atlanta Santa Speedo Run. Do barely there, but make it Santa. Teams and individuals race through Midtown in teeny tiny swimwear for charity @ Politan Row Colony Square, 12 noon.

#DadsAgainstDeplorables Calendar Launch. They’re big. They’re burly. They’re posing boudoir style to raise money for progressive causes @ Woofs, 1 p.m.

Miss Ruck N Maul. Members of Atlanta Bucks Rugby compete for a camp title under this year’s “Caught in the Headlights” theme @ Future, 5 p.m. Check out our years of hilarious photos.

Fantasy Girls. Phoenix and Destiny Brooks headline two dinner-show experiences with Shawnna Brooks, Extasy Grey and Cici Nicole in the show bar @ Future, 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Eyeball these photos from the fun.

Fortune Feimster. The most hilarious lesbian comic ever brings her “2 Sweet 2 Salty” tour to Atlanta @ Center Stage, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday too.

Naughty Is Nice. A very EAV holiday party includes a pop-up shop featuring Neon Horror gear. Join the dirty dancing DJ, NH’s jack of all trades Brad Gibson @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

Somebody Told Me: Indie Dance Party. DJ Kimber, her gays, their friends and their ode to ‘90s-‘00s independent dance tunes @ Venkman’s, 10 p.m.

Unholy Night. RPDR in the house! Tammie Brown headlines the Wussy holiday party, the first of her two appearances this weekend @ My Sister’s Room, 10 p.m.

Heretic 30th Anniversary. Three decades of dancing queens, bear brigades and queerios welcome Joe Gauthreaux and Kristine W. @ Heretic, 10 p.m. Read our preview in this issue of Q ATLus. Get there early for Armorettes Trailer Park Christmas, 8 p.m.

Midtown Saturday Night. Gather your gay-guy gaggle @ X Midtown, 10 p.m.

Divas of the Moonlight. Myah Ross Monroe, Angelica D’Paige Brooks and more @ Midtown Moon, 10 p.m.

Candy Canes & Cocktails. Rainbow Haus Entertainment brings the spirit of Black Gay Pride to the holidays for one night only @ DT Studio, 10 p.m.

Xion Afterhours ft. DJ Seth Breezy. The Underground’s gay club keeps you jumpin’ into the wee hours @ Future, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.


The singular quirk of Tammie Brown headlines two shows this weekend, Saturday at MSR and Sunday Brunch at City Winery.

Sunday, Dec. 12

Tammie Brown’s Holiday Sparkle Brunch. The RuQueen follows up on the previous night’s performance as part of a killer brunch cast @ City Winery, 12 noon.

Atlanta Rainbow Trout Swimming. The local LGBTQ swimming club practices @ Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, 12 noon. Same again on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. First two practices free.

Drag Brunch. The Sisters of Sequins at the wheel while you eat in dinner-theater style @ Lips, 12:30 p.m.

Sunday Brunch & Heifer Review. Ruby Redd emcees the queens while you eat up and drink down @ Midtown Moon, 1 p.m. Later, there’s the Other Side of the Moon drag show, 9 p.m.

Spill the ‘T’ with Mother. Get the day going with drink specials and DJ Rob Reum, then keep it going with Honey Pot Bear Night @ Hideaway, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Sunday Funday. Gather at the rainbow crosswalks, then step into one of gay Atlanta’s biggest bar traditions. Cocktails, food, shows and fun @ X Midtown, 4 p.m. through 12 midnight.

Fortune Feimster. The most hilarious lesbian comic ever brings her “2 Sweet 2 Salty” tour to Atlanta @ Center Stage, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

MSR: Brunch & Bubbly. Eat, drink, and the merry drag show starts at 4 p.m. @ My Sister’s Room, 2 p.m. Now every Sunday is also Switch! Sunday, 8 p.m.

Shameless Sunday. Kyra Mora hosts the fun with Brigitte Bidet and Shawnna Brooks in the cabaret and DJ Kevin Durard in the club @ Future, 8 p.m. The dance floor pops anew with DJ Karlitos, 12 a.m.
