The best gay things to do in Atlanta this weekend

When the Braves are hosting gay fans, gay choruses are singing out proud, gay dance queens are on the scene, and gay jocks are swinging, it must be Stonewall Month in the LGBT-ATL. Come and get it.

Friday, June 10

Atlanta Braves LGBT Night (top photo). Come watch the home team take on the Cubs with all your gays in tow @ Turner Field. Pre-game patio party with the Atlanta Gay Men's Chorus, 5:30 p.m. Game time, 7:30 p.m.

OurSong: Take Flight. Atlanta’s co-ed gay chorus sings songs that put the wind beneath your wings in their annual June show @ First Baptist Church of Decatur, 8 p.m. Saturday performance as well.

“Significant Other.” What happens when a gay man starts losing his straight female besties to marriage but can't find a man of his own? A quest for his true self @ Actor's Express, 8 p.m. Runs through June 19. Read our preview.

Boys Room. Come hang out with the cool kids @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

The Other Show. A weekly drag cabaret with an eclectic cast tries to keep you guessing @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m

Friday T. There’s no cover charge to kick off your weekend at this man-on-man dance party, this time with DJ Kevin Durard @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Deadly Vixens puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.

Femme Fatale puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere Atlanta queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Friday Night Dance Party. Another weekly way to kick off your weekend just hit 10th Street. See what you can get into @ G’s, 10 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Crush Friday turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.

 

Saturday, June 11

East Point Possums (middle photo). Every queen who’s any queen on stage, and every gay who’s any gay drinking fundraising punch for Lost N Found Youth in an outdoor carnival atmosphere @ East Point Commons, 7 p.m.

Big Gay Garage Sale. The allied Gay Men’s and Women’s choruses host this rummage sale to benefit their trips to the national chorale. Find treasures @ Positive Impact, 7 a.m. – 12 noon.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during regularly schedule shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Wild Pitch Launch. Welcome to a new music experience headed by lesbian DJ Vicki Powell and the one and only Josh Wink @ Wild Pitch, 9 p.m.

Stop Light Party. Want to hit on that dude? Green means go, yellow means maybe, and red means taken with DJ Neon the GlowgoBear, Fort Troff and sexy dancers to boot @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

DJ Rafael Barreto. The international stunner works his magic on the dance crowd @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Get there early for Fantasy Girls, 9:30 p.m. Those girls know how to work it

Synergy turns up the volume on Saturday night and blows your ever-loving mind with glamazons working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

DJ Robert Ansley All Nighter. Don’t stop ‘til you get enough. Dance until you need sunglasses to leave @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

 

Sunday, June 12

Sunday Service Anniversary with DJ Vicki Powell (bottom photo). It’s been five years since the most inclusive queer patio party in town took over the first summer Sundays @ Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium, 6:30 p.m.

Hotlanta Softball League: Hall of Fame Day pits the local gay pitchers and catchers in its summer season of games @ Johnson Park, Conyers, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Meet the guys for this week’s Extra Innings Beer Bust @ Woofs, 4 p.m.

Brunch Lines. Comedy, variety and food. You can’g go wrong as some of the city’s best are hosted by gay Atlanta’s own Ian Aber @ Highland Inn Ballroom, 1 p.m.

SQFP Organizing. Meet with the people who are about to bring Southern Fried Queer Pride to finalize plans @ Honey Bubble, 4 p.m.

Drag Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips (bottom photo), 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Sunday Funday wraps your weekend just the way you like it: with all your gays plus DJs Rob Reum and Robert Ansley @ Ten Atlanta, 5 p.m. – midnight

OutFront Tonys Takeoff. As Broadway gathers to fete its best on TV, Atlanta’s new LGBT theater company gets its start watching the festivities @ 10th & Piedmont, 6:30 p.m.

Midtown Rouge. Get to gettin' with High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the Sunday drag show kicks its latest, most fabulous iteration @ Blake's, 8 p.m.

Armorettes: Whitney Night. Atlanta’s camp drag crazies against HIV do their weekly good in the gayborhood @ Burkhart’s, 7:30 p.m.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet and her left-of-center queens @ Burkhart’s, 9:30 p.m.
