Hello, weekend. Long time, no see. Well, even on a short week, it’s great to see you. And aren’t you looking lovely decked out in your finest LGBT events that put the gay in our Friday through Sunday.

Friday, June 1
k.d. lang (top photo) kicks off summer’s Concerts in the Garden series of outdoor shows with guest act Jane [email protected] Atlanta Botanical Garden, 8 p.m. Read our preview of the whole series, including when Indigo Girls perform.

Scissor Sisters Appreciation Party/Bearracuda Pre-party celebrates the release of gay-tastic pop rockers Scissor Sisters’ (second photo) album “Magic Hour” with DJ Headmaster Ritual @ Mary’s, 9 p.m. Read our Scissor Sisters album preview, and watch their latest video.

“The Hottest Ticket in Town” is a madcap comedy by the gay-led Odd Man Out Theatre Company that hilariously follows a down-on-their luck gaggle of actors @ Arts Exchange, 8 p.m. Saturday performance, too.

Dance Fever: White Lines is the Rick James edition of this Friday dance party with DJs Twee & M with DJ Tina V @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

DJ Lydia Prim rocks the house at her weekly Friday night dance-a-thon to kick off your weekend @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Saturday, June 2
NFFLA Flag Football (third photo) pits its gay teams in this week’s four gridiron match ups @ Candler Park, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., followed by the NFFLA Post-game Beer Bust @ FROGS, 5 p.m.

LGBT Parenting workshop with MEGA Family Project gives you info and tips so you can weigh your options for becoming a parent @ Rush Center, 9:30 a.m.

Georgia Safe Schools Coalition Beer Bust raises funds for this LGBT anti-bullying organization @ Joe’s on Juniper, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

AGMC Big Wig IV: Once Upon A Wig is the fourth annual wig party (fourth photo) for Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus with DJ Todd Skelton, an open bar and raffle prizes. Joining Hearts 25 Studs & Suds Car Wash finds shirtless cuties splishing, splashing and scrubbing your dirty, dirty auto while you watch in the parking lot @ Blake’s, 12 noon – 4 p.m.

Halcyon and Chase Daniels Birthday Bash welcomes the dynamic lesbian musical duo (fifth photo) to help the club’s owner/emcee celebrate in style @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m. DJ Liz Owen spins after until 3 a.m.

Dirty Pop dance party mixes the best of today’s Hip Hop, Electro, Dance and Rock with DJ Drew G and a special performance by Phoenix @ Jungle, 10 p.m.

Bottomless Beer for Boobies is a $10 all-you-can-drink beer bust to benefit the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer with a Hawaiian theme. Get lei’d all day @ My Sister’s Room, doors at 12:30 p.m.

No Hotlanta Softball games this week as the league recovers from last weekend’s Big Peach Tournament games (photos) and half-naked jock parties (photos). But you know they’re having an Extra Innings Beer Bust anyway @ Woofs, 4 p.m.

The Armorettes perform their weekly HIV fundraising show with camp drag aplenty @ Burkhart’s, 8 p.m.
