The best gay New Year’s Eve parties in Houston

We don’t play when it comes to playtime. Ever. That goes double for New Year’s Eve events. Here’s more LGBT NYE than you can handle, but you'll have fun trying.

Wednesday, Dec. 31

2015 Explosion All Nighter with DJ Drew G (top photo). Extended hours mean a party until 5 a.m. Get ready for Drew’s Dirty Pop, free champagne for everyone 21 and up, party favors, and a major confetti NYE ring-in @ South Beach, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

New Year’s G.L.A.M. Prepare yourself and hang on tight. “Gay Life After Midnight” is a glamorous affair with DJ Joe Ross and your sharpest duds @ F Bar, 9 p.m.

Lady Bunny New Year. The biggest hair on the oldest queen hits town to ramp up the celebration. The show also includes Kara Dion and Ladi Shamu @ Guava Lamp, 9 p.m.

Club Lucky New Year's Blowout with Manilla Luzon. The “RuPaul's Drag Race” alum hits downtown and makes it her bitch with DJs Chris Zane, Athenz and Joey Guerra. Other cable-worthy queens include Chloe T. Crawford and London Adour @ House of Blues, 9 p.m. Get your advance tickets.

Lumiere Nouveau: A New Year's Masquerade. A mask is required, as is your new-year joy. Bring it with the Pride Houston folks for a balloon drop, open bar, hundreds of guests and more @ Winter Street Studios, 9 p.m.

Masquerade Glitter Ball. Haul out your most fabulous attire to ring in the New Year on the dance floor with special treats @ Blur, 9 p.m.

NYE 2015 Countdown Party. Get with the shower boys to end the year with a bang. No cover, champagne toast and midnight and all of 2014’s biggest dance floor hits @ Meteor, 9 p.m.

C&W NYE. A huge bash with your country-lovin gays includes a $500 balloon drop. Champagne toast at midnight is followed by a free breakfast buffet @ Neon Boots, 9 p.m.

New Year’s Eve with Patrice Pike and DJ Ben Phoenix. The ladies know where their bread is buttered, and they know how to party. Patrice Pike performs live early, followed by KRBE’s Phoenix in the Pearl Bar and Kittie Burciaga at PearlSports @ Pearl Lounge Houston, 8 p.m.

New Year’s Eve Gear Party. Strap on your rubber, leather, uniform, sports or other fetish wear to ring in 2015 with the men @ Ripcord, 9 p.m.

Black Mask Ball. Leather up and get on down with the rough-and-ready guys @ Eagle Houston, 9 p.m.

Champagne Party. DJ Tim Scott builds you up and lays you out to welcome 2015 @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, 9 p.m.

Seductive New Year. You know how they roll – drag, drinks and dudes @ TC’s Showbar, 9 p.m.

Boys and Men. Make one last fruit loop through Houston’s go-to bars. You know you love it @ JR’s and Mining Company.
