The best Atlanta Pride things to do this weekend

From officially sanctioned events to unofficially balls-out fun, the big gay annual Atlanta Pride means that there is only one thing to do. But of course by one thing, we mean dozens upon dozens of LGBT options. Here’s the rundown: Friday, Oct. 12 Atlanta Pride Kickoff Party (top photo). Yes, it’s sold out, but since thousands will be there with DJs Vicki Powell and Corey Craig to celebrate, you better recognize: Pride Weekend is officially on @ Georgia Aquarium, 7 p.m. Read our full coverage of Atlanta Pride. Lady Bunny’s Studio 54 Party lets you disco disco disco with the drag legend (second photo) to show your Pride with amped up partiers all night @ Burkhart’s, 9 p.m. “Lipschtick: One Boy’s Journey to Fabulous and Back” returns for Pride weekend @ Saint Mark United Methodist Church, 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (Also Saturday 5:30 p.m.) The ‘L’ Lounge brings on the ladies to the annual Heaven series of lesbian Pride events @ W Atlanta Midtown, 9 p.m. DJ Joe Gauthreaux and Kat Graham. The sexy sensations team up with the sexy NYC DJ (third photo) in the booth and the Atlanta resident actress and singer on the mic @ Heretic, 10 p.m. Women’s Glow Pride Hookup Party welcomes all the ladies to Atlanta for Pride at the city’s lesbian dance bar and lounge with DJs M & Twee, a drag king show, special surprises and of course, tons and tons of women @ My Sister’s Room, 10 p.m. Atlanta Pride Kickoff Afterparty welcomes Madonna-Gaga mastermind DJ Ed Bailey and all the dancing you can handle into the night @ Jungle, 10 p.m. Bienvenido a la Fiesta with “RuPaul’s” Yara Sofia (fourth photo) is the Pride edition of Atlanta’s Got Leche gay Latin night with performances including the “Drag Race” favorite, multiple DJs and all the way from Spain, Sonia Madoc (Read our interview.) @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. Pride Bar Parties kick it Pride style, including but by no means limited to DJ Smash @ Mixx, Bitch, Please: Pride Edition @ Mary’s, Gaylorama @ Oscar’s, Drag on the Wild Side with Sherry Vine @ Eagle and Charlie’s Angels with Charlie Brown @ Blake’s. Peach Dance Party is Atlanta Pride Commitee’s official women’s party with Curve Magazine and Pandora Events.
