imageWhen the gays take over, they do it in style — of course. So it’s no surprise that the posh Bar Eleven at the recently-opened Loews Hotel was the site on Friday for TakeOver Atlanta.

That’s a group of gay friends — Adam Ellis (second photo), Ryan Hughes and Ken Folds — who pull together an informal outing to popular and often new nightspots. Last we caught up with the group, they were enjoying the smoke-free setting of Aurum, the cozy lounge on 8th Street that’s part of the über-gay Metropolis condo towers.

imageOn Friday, the gathering was in the newest addition to Atlanta’s skyline. The 414-room hotel sits in Midtown and anchors the massive mixed-use development called 12th & Midtown. Bar Eleven is among a long list of amenities at the hotel, including a spa, fitness center and Loews’ Hotels’ signature restaurant, Eleven.
