One day isn’t good enough when it comes to LGBT love. Valentine’s Day isn’t until Sunday, but gay Atlanta gets started early with art shows, a film fest, parties, commitment ceremonies and more.
Hallmark may have resurrected an obscure holiday to push greeting cards in an otherwise slow season. But starting Wednesday and continuing through the big day, our people make it their own. Some two dozen local events are on our daily Gay Agenda community calendar so far.
A chance to make a political statement? Three in fact. To support local artists and queer film? Yup, times five. To celebrate sexuality? Naturally. To honor loved ones who passed too soon? Check. Any reason to party? But of course.
To thumb our noses at the whole concept of the holiday? Yes, even those are on the list.
