You know the gays love a good protest. Mix it with alcohol and, well, you’ve got yourself a winner. The grassroots group Georgians for Sunday Alcohol Sales – undaunted by the near-death effort for Sunday alcohol sales in stores – will rally at the State Capitol on Wednesday at high noon.

Join Georgians for Sunday alcohol sales on the steps of the State Capitol this Wednesday at noon for a non-partisan rally in support of SB-10, the bill that would allow local counties and cities to decide for themselves on Sunday sales.

It was just last week that Republicans in the state Senate, ignoring two polls showing that Georgia voters support being allowed to vote on Sunday sales, knuckled under to Christian conservatives and killed the measure without so much as a floor vote. Will a protest change their wussy ways? Doubtful. But it’ll be fun – bring your favorite cocktail recipes and swap with your new drinking buddies.
