Though spring is a few weeks away, it’s time for you couch potatoes to start getting limber.
On Sunday, the Atlanta Gay Sports Alliance holds a recruitment event that will bring together its nine member groups to try and convince you it’s time for some sports in your life. The three-hour event begins at 2 p.m. at Amsterdam in Midtown. From softball to flag football and more, come out, mingle and meet the folks behind the city’s vibrant gay sports scene and check into what it takes to get a little jocular.
Several of the groups have already kicked off their spring season, including the Atlanta Bucks Rugby Football Club (which has its next game in Atlanta on Feb. 28), the Hotlanta Soccer Association and the Hotlanta Volleyball Association (which has league play on Tuesdays and Fridays).
Other leagues start in the coming weeks, including the National Flag Football League of Atlanta (which is hosting early registration until Feb. 22) and the Hotlanta Softball League (which recently finished a series of sign-up events and hosts a clinic on March 8).
Throughout the upcoming spring seasons, stay tuned to Project Q Atlanta for photos and updates.
