Softball jocks don drag to snag MSLA crown

When manly men put their shame aside, swap their Montrose Softball League Association uniforms for drag and fight for the Miss MSLA title, it’s much more fierce competition than you might expect.

The event on Saturday at Meteor helps raise funds for Camp Hope, Assisthers and Houston Humane Society. The fun night drew a crowd to watch a panel of judges sort through all the wigs, dresses and performances under this year’s “Welcome to the Jungle” theme. Co-emcees Kelly Clarkson-Sanchez and Aria Crawford kept things lively and moving along.

Ultimately, the event raised more than $7,000 for its beneficiaries, and last year’s softball diva Athena Campbell gave up the crown to Sasha B. Frost (top photo, in green). But based on these photos, everyone was a winner.
