What could make a DJ Vicki Powell FLUX party even better? Make it last into the next day with a swank bed to crash before a morning brunch and pool party. The summer’s first FLUXdeluxe stay-cation party goes down Saturday and Sunday.
With her famous mantra “Get into it!” in tow, Powell (top photo) and party meister Bill Kaelin amp up the FLUX at the Livingston inside the Historic Georgian Terrace Hotel starting on Saturday night. Her now-legendary dance party goes until 3 a.m., but with special rates at the Georgian Terrace, all you have to do is go upstairs when you’re done, and you’ve got FLUXdeluxe. Book your room now.
When you open your eyes, FLUX gets wet with a rooftop pool party. Brunch specials, bottomless mimosas, Powell’s signature beats and a 360-degree Atlanta skyline view ease you into Sunday.
“Skimpy swimwear and splashing encouraged,” according to the invite.
Other Saturday night specials shoot off this weekend, too. Sinister Saturday at the Heretic feature DJ Jay McCracken. He lays down the Saturday, and you provide the sinister. The beats start at 10 p.m.
And for something completely out of the Midtown element, Adam Darby and Angie Terrell (of her famous TRYST parties) channel their alteregos—Black Sunshine and Sydney Slain (second photo)—for the monthly CONNECTOR party at Eastside Lounge.
With a few events under their belts, CONNECTOR also goes all summer, throwing down each second Saturday night of the month through August.
“Do the worm, the robot, Lunge, dress up as an animal of your choice–we’ve already had a panda pay a visit)–or just come as you are,” Terrell says. “But be prepared to get down and dirty with the best beats in the city.
