Sam Smith’s gay love story unfolds in Atlanta

Add this share

The latest chapter in the ongoing saga of out singer Sam Smith takes place right here in gay Atlanta. Our smooth-crooning hero hits town for a victory tour and continues a love affair with fans and his hot new boyfriend.

As you may or may not have heard while taking these 19 steps to fall in love with him, Smith is newly non-single. The news broke after he and actor Jonathan Ziezel (top photo with Smith) took a New Year’s vacation together in Sydney. And by actor, we mean underwear model. And by news broke, we mean they outed themselves on Instagram.

Yes Ziezel is that hot, and they are that cute together. Here they are playing “Titanic” on New Year’s Day in Sydney. Because boat. Also because twerking partner.

But they had to say so long to summer in December paradise Down Under and head to Atlanta to kick off the latest leg in the never-ending “In the Lonely Hour” tour. Despite the new lack of actual loneliness in Smith’s life.

That’s where Atlanta comes in. Before Friday’s concert and before we can catch him channeling Beyonce in an Atlanta hotel shower, we pick up the love story – theirs and ours – with a grumpy Smith at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. The saga continues via social media blasts from Smith, a couple of his ATL concert fans, and Ziezel.

Receiving ATL love first requires a grueling flight.
