Gird your loins, gay Atlanta. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” judge and sharp-tongued Ru bestie Michelle Visage hits town next month for the Divine Rules Pageant seeking Atlanta’s “filthiest” queen.
Pets Are Loving Support put out the call for contestants who want to show how vulgar, obscene and disgusting they can be in front of one of the harshest judges known to drag.
“Are you the filthiest drag queen in town? Prove it, bitches!” declares the announcement for the Sept. 22 pageant at Jungle.
And Visage (top photo) isn’t the only famous mouth on the panel. The B52s’ Fred Schneider has also agreed to critique the queens. They’re joined by Atlanta’s own “RuPaul” alums Phoenix as a judge and Nicole Paige Brooks as host.
Of course, the contest benefits PALS, which helps Atlanta’s critically ill people keep and care for their pets. This time around, PALS proceeds share the spotlight with the anti-bullying work of the I Am Divine Foundation, named after the late, great, filthiest of all drag queens made famous by gay filmmaker John Waters.
