Rugby jocks in purple frocks do drag for charity

Scores of burly gay rugby players and their athletic supporters dressed in their purple best and jogged – ok, mostly merrily sashayed – through Midtown on Saturday for a bar crawl fundraiser.

The 8th Annual Purple Dress Run from the Atlanta Bucks limbered up and jogged off from Mixx before hitting Frogs and Blake's on its way to a cookout at the Eagle. A minimum of two beers at each stop kept the “runners” from reconsidering their wardrobe choices. Because sometimes jocks in frocks can be messy.

The event helped the Bucks raise funds for its trip to the Bingham Cup in Sydney in August. A portion of the proceeds also benefited Lost N Found Youth, which cares for homeless LGBT teens in Atlanta.
