An international DJ sensation, some dance floor shenanigans, a crowd of loyal patrons, a boxing theme and a lot of love. That’s the recipe for a kick-ass Ready 4 Hope year of AIDS Walk fundraising.
It’s also the equation that equals a R4H Weekend main event to celebrate (top photo). After two Friday warmup parties, scores of gays descended on Jungle for the big reveal: some $45,363 raised this year for the AIDS Walk team that knows how to party.
During the event, the R4H guys in their red tanks staged a Hope vs. Fear bout to drive home their theme and their cause (second photo). The 2014 success meant that DJ Wayne G had an attentive, ecstatic audience to rock into the night. But they weren’t done yet. Ready 4 Hope Weekend continued with an afterparty at Xion until morning, and a tea dance back at Jungle on Sunday.
In an Oscars-style thank you after things settled down, R4H organizer Mike Woodside showed gratitude to just about everybody he could think of who helped R4H happen this year.
On behalf of the Ready for Hope team and myself, we would like to thank everyone that attended our events this year! The team and I are overwhelmed by your commitment to our mission and support of AID Atlanta. Though great strides have been made in the management of HIV/AID today, we must continue to fight until HIV is just a memory. Too many of our friends and family have been taken from us and it's critical that we each do our part to surround ourselves with those we love for as long as we can.
After you check out our photo gallery from the event below, revisit just some of the great R4H events that made the huge donation possible, from sexy cold month leprechauns to a spring bear-b-q and all the way through summer. Boy did it pay off (third photo).
