Gay journalist Rich Eldredge serves up more dish
How do you follow breaking the story of Gov. Nathan Deal’s secret obsession of pulling pork with the gays? For gay scribe and culture vulture Rich Eldredge, you do what you’ve been doing for nearly 24 years–keep digging up the dirt and delivering the dish.
Fans of the journalist and his take on local gossip and insight on Atlanta personalities can rejoice. Atlanta magazine, his home since early 2010, is beefing up his brand and offering more servings of the dish we’ve come to love over the years. Eldredge (photo) unveiled Eldredge ATL on Sept. 1 with plans to deliver the gossipy briefs on Wednesdays and longer-form interviews and stories sprinkled in throughout the week.
“Because of Atlanta magazine’s faith in me, this kind of content and their commitment to readers, I’m completely energized again,” Eldredge gushed to us about the larger presence with the magazine. “After a 23-year stint in this reporting racket, that thrills me more than words can articulate.”
Eldredge is no stranger to the social scene – he was among the notables at the gay-helmed Jeffrey Fashion Cares benefit in August – or offering scoops, breaking the story that popular lesbian radio personality Melissa Carter was leaving the airwaves. Keep an eye out or you might just become a piece of his dish.
