As Thanksgiving gives way to a full-court press on the holidays, Q magazine makes a list and checks it twice this week — for queer gift ideas, yes, but for an LGBTQ seasonal spirit that lasts all year.

Love it or loathe, it, giving is a priority for many queers this time of year, but it’s also a privilege. Sharing the wealth LGBTQ-ATL organizations, and showing kindness to individuals, are good places to start, not to mention all the good feelings and year-round karma that you’re setting in motion for yourself.

Everyone else benefits too, from our inner circles to the larger network of queers depending on each other for support and for advancing change one decent act at a time. Speaking of which, LGBTQ progress is also on the mind of our Q Voices columnist this week. Ian Aber is chilling with Netflix and frankly finds it lacking.

Of course, you can give of yourself to yourself too. 10 Queer Things plays a simple game of Either/Or for some of life’s tight spots. Our advice column, The Q, offers tips on improving your relationships, Q News arms you with the latest in the LGBTQ local life and times, and you’d have nothing to give if life was all work and no play, so partake freely from this week’s packed Queer Agenda calendar of events.

Now about that Q Gift Guide. It’s massive, y’all. Dozens of options in for more gifts in JewelryHomeFashion, Pets, Tech, Stocking Stuffers and Naughty Novelties await from local retailers as well as international queer and queer-friendly outlets. To expand the options , our advertisers pepper you with their suggestions throughout the Gift Guide pages as well.

So from Project Q Atlanta and Q magazine, welcome to the holidays in LGBTQ Atlanta. May your generosity of spirit be the best thing you give — and get — this year.
