Pride gets ‘Heavenly’ for hundreds of lesbians

imageFor hundreds of women, the start of their annual Atlanta Pride celebration beings with the Heaven party. From a dance floor to a lounge and plenty in between, the event offers a little something for everyone.

So women — and even a few gay men — packed Heaven on Friday at the Park Tavern, a cavernous space overlooking a corner of Piedmont Park and one of the Pride entertainment stages. Local DJs Duck and Vicki Powell joined Vancouver favorite DJ DeLux to spin during the evening.

Heaven also offered laser lights, dancers from Lesbo-A-Gogo and an art exhibit by tefany Holmes, MC Lemay & Efi Designs. The evening started with a reception at Bellissima, the bar owned by Anna Ragghianti, who also runs the Swa-Ra group that stages Heaven and other special events each year.
