Porsha Williams tried to walk back her homophobic sermon, but the non-apology apology from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star glossed over her rant that gays need saving like hookers and drug dealers.

The nearly one-minute attempt at damage control misses the mark, just like the sorry y'all efforts last year of drag-inspiration Paula Deen. Williams opened her effort, first reported Tuesday by TMZ, by saying that her three-year old sermon was taken out of context. Because you need more context to grasp the meaning of, “We Christians supposed to be telling the hooker on the street, the drug dealer, the person who in the hospital trying to commit suicide, the gays, the lesbians, we're supposed to try and save them and tell them you are worthy.”

“First let me say that God loves all of his children and although some people discriminate against others because of their race, their religion, um, their sexual orientation, their status in life, that we are all worthy of God's love. The sermon that was shown was shown not in its entirety therefore the message was omitted.”

Then, she hopes you aren't hurt by her words. Not that she will put them into some sort of context or, better, repudiate them. She's just sorry that you might be bothered by them.

“I apologize that those words hurt the LGBT community, my fans and my supporters. Life is a journey and I am growing every day and I continue to encourage everyone to love each other unconditionally.”

She also missed the opportunity to explain away her gay-baiting during the just-wrapped RHOA season. The sermon going public, and Williams' publicly addressing it, comes just days after she performed her new single “Flatline” at New York gay club El Morocco. That wasn't lost on Cynthia Bailey, a RHOS castmate who blasted Williams for the sermon, according to TMZ.

Cynthia called Porsha's pulpit rant disappointing — telling us, “To put gays and lesbians in the same category as drug dealers, hookers, and people who attempt suicide is ignorant and insensitive. Especially when she just recently profited from performing at a popular gay club in NYC. #flipflop.

So did RHOA gay bestie Miss Lawrence.

“I think some women use the community as a convenience … i.e. for gay slang, fan base building, and beauty security. But like always, true character always reveals.”
