Photos: Hundreds pour Atlanta’s Pride into Piedmont Park

A park fest full of love really makes Pride Weekend. On cue, Kween on the Green organizers made sure their 9th annual event drew its biggest crowd ever on Saturday.

Usually, ‘Kween’ is an informal gathering for scores of cooler-toting Atlanta Pride gays that Mike Woodside (top photo) puts together. In the absence of this year’s official festival, he pulled hundreds of LGBTQ and allied people together creating a DIY Pride that stretched the entire width of the Piedmont Park Meadow.

The bring-your-own rainbow event included canopies, tents, rainbow balloons, flags, pets and banners.
