President Obama took his campaign to woo gay (and female) voters to “The View” on Tuesday, proving again that America’s First Gay President knows how to talk gay. Obama didn’t go as far as he did during a fundraiser with gay pop singer Ricky Martin a day earlier – when he said repealing the Defense of Marriage Act was a second-term priority – but he did take aim at DOMA. Obama also spelled out the sharp differences between him and that other guy when it comes to LGBT equality. Then he threw a bone to gay Republicans and said gays care about the economy, too. It’s been a big gay week for Obama. Last Wednesday, he declared his support for same-sex marriage, gets poked by Jon Stewart for it, hits gay rights in a speech on Monday, does a big gay fundraiser in New York City later that day and sits down with the ladies of “The View."
