More screenings. More attendees. More filmmakers. 2012 was the Year of More for Atlanta’s LGBT film festival. And the results are in from the most successful Out On Film in history.

A record 6,000 patrons enjoyed the 25th annual festival’s 80 screenings over eight days of programming on Oct. 4 – 11. That’s twice the number of moviegoers at the 2011 iteration of Out On Film, and festival director Jim Farmer couldn’t be happier.

“From the sold-out Opening Night screening of ‘Gayby’ to the packed house for ‘Bear City 2’ Closing Night, attendance was tremendous,” Farmer says in a prepared statement. “Our attendance on Super Saturday – Oct. 6 – was a record, with crowds beginning at 11 a.m. through our late night screening of ‘I Want Your Love.’ We thank Atlanta for that, as well as our sponsors for making it happen.”

Out On Film has also finalized stats to rank this year’s features and its stars. “Bear City 2: The Proposal” (top photo), sponsored by Project Q, was the most well attended screening (view photos). “Cloudburst,” starring Olympia Dukakis (read our interview), came in second and was voted Best Overall Feature in the Audience Awards. “Cloudburst also tied with “Gayby” for the Juror Award for Best Film.
