More reasons to love ATL’s new weather daddy

Atlanta's new gay weather daddy, Sam Champion, cuddled with us for three hours on Monday as he took over the Weather Channel. Along the way, he gave us even more reasons to love him.

How? Because he unabashedly gives a shout to his husband on the debut of his national TV show, "AMHQ." (Watch the clip above.)

And he makes statements like this to the AJC.

Why Midtown? “It’s not just the gay thing,” he said with a chuckle. “It’s that I’m coming from an urban environment. Midtown gives you that. It gives you walkability. I can walk to get my coffee, go to my dry cleaners, hit the grocery store. It feels like the Upper West Side 15 years ago.”

And he has a husband that tweets things like this from Weather Channel HQ in Cobb County.

Champion loves his Southern gays and we love him right back, sloppy kisses and all.
