The annual breakfast takes place on the annual commemoration of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The event this year, held Jan. 19, took place after a vocal protest earlier that morning over the appearance of Rev. Rick Warren at the MLK services at Ebenezer Baptist Church. (View photos from the protest.)
The breakfast included a panel discussion that featured Craig Washington, an organizer of the breakfast and protest, blogger Darian Aaron, transgender activist Cheryl Courtney-Evans, Emory graduate student Letitia Campbell and Morehouse College student Michael Brewer. The discussion was moderated by Nikki Young.
