The air was thick and the squeeze was tight at Mary’s in East Atlanta on Friday for the bar’s last ManShaft event of the year. ManShaft: Levi-Leather-Fetish Edition attracted a large crowd of enthusiasts and spectators alike.
The fetish theme took ManShaft, which has seen its theme shoot in every direction throughout the year, back to its roots. Bulging Levi’s, hot daddies and boys, rubber men, bears, cubs, hairy chests and faces, and fetish gear were all on display. The hanky code was in full effect.
Organizers invited all comers to “get stuffed early before you’re stuck with the family next weekend.” Whether that was the ultimate draw or not, men from all walks of gay life arrived in droves sporting appropriately appointed wares.
The Order of the Flaming Sugarbakers (top photo) served up shooters for charity, and Positive Impact’s MISTER Project handed out free ManShaft survival kits. Hotlanta Rubber (bottom photo) was also on hand alongside other local gay fetish groups.
Those who arrived early enjoyed “Happy Trail” Happy Hour with DJ Warm & Fuzzy and DJ Sensational Gravity Boy. Those who stayed late were entertained with vintage men’s films and thumped to the beat of DJ Diablo Rojo’s mix of rock, disco, electro, alternative and mash-ups.
We hear that there was an underwear toss at midnight. No word on the rules or outcome of that aspect of the event, but we can only imagine it was the promised hot mess.
