Memorial service set for fallen softball player

A memorial service is set for Monday to remember a Hotlanta Softball League player who died during a game on May 4.

Joe Flanagan, who played this season on the Xtreme, will be remembered during a 3 p.m. service at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta. His family asks that no flowers be sent or brought to the service. Go to the HSL site for additional details.

Flanagan will also be remembered during a moment of silence during the league’s Mr. & Ms. HSL Pageant on May 17. Additionally, a brief service will be held before the Xtreme takes the filed on May 18 at noon at the Metro Atlanta Softball Complex, where he suffered an apaprent heart attack.
