When it’s “last call,” apparently Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan gets a little gay.

That was the case Jan. 21 when the stud QB landed on the set of “Last Call with Carson Daly” to pitch Axe Hair. He was was there, too, as the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year and the guy who led the franchise to a winning record and playoff appearance this season.

But the tone was set when the 23-year-old Ryan, the face of the franchise, came out with Daly calling him “the stud.” That’s an accurate description for the emerging metrosexual, but it did begin the drooling by Daly.

We’ll skip the chit chat about football and Ryan’s pick for the Super Bowl and get to the important stuff — the gay moment.

Daly: You are out here in L.A. woking with Axe Hair. What is that? You look good. You wear a helmet all of the time.

Ryan: Axe is helping get my act together off the field. My girlfriend likes it. That’s huge. (Uh, for a guy who signed a six-year, $72-million contract, I think I’d probably hire an accountant or two, a financial guru and worry less about the hair.)

Daly: This may be a bit of a gay moment, but your hair looks beautiful.

Ryan: Likewise.

While Falcons fans are “eww”-ing and “gross”-ing, declaring Carson Daly gay and Matt Ryan a god, I’ll be curious to see how many of them go buy Axe Hair. From dog-killing ghetto thug with a Nike contract to metrosexual hair pimp with a bodygrooming contract; Oh how Atlanta’s quarterback position certainly has transformed in the last two years.

It’s also not Ryan’s first gay moment. This the same guy that likes musicals.
