Taking it poolside during a hot summer day, giving new meaning to the event’s “hot sticky party for men” motto. So the hairy chests and faces of the quarterly parties filled the pool of the Melia Hotel in Midtown on Sunday for ManSplash. DJ Diablo Rojo (second photo, second from left) pitched the event as a thank you to supporters, but the crowd seemed more thankful for the afternoon of music, manly poolside hunks, $5 drinks and three fully-stocked bars to keep their spirits lubricated. And really, how can you miss an event with a description like this:

Expect DJ Diablo Rojo to rock out your hairy chests & faces, bears, otters, cubs, tattoos & piercings revealed via swimwear, sweaty biceps & butt cracks, bulging trunks & speedos, fur infested waters and well of course...YOU!

The bulges were on hand, but the smooth-chested twinks were not: This was a party for men to soak up the summer sun and fellow ManShafters unafraid to put on display their tufts of chest hair as they let it all hang out. The diverse crowd included some staples of gay Atlanta DJ nightlife: Vicki Powell (second photo left) working a skimpy two-piece bathing suit, Chris Griswold showing off his abs covered in trimmed chest hair and Kyle Keyser relaxing in one of the poolside cabanas. Gay events promoter Bill Kaelin was spotted splashing around, too, and what ManShaft event would be a success without Wayne Turpin? Yes, Mr. Atlanta Eagle was there, knocking back some beer and enjoying the man candy. In June, ManShaft offered a military theme. In February, there was plenty of flannel and vintage men’s films for its Lumberjack Edition (photos). Last November, offered a pre-Thanksgiving Levi-Leather-Fetish Edition (photos).
