Two gay Atlanta men were robbed – and one shot – during an early-morning attack on Saturday outside a popular gay bar in East Atlanta.

The victims – 27 and 39 – were sitting in a vehicle parked in the lot behind Mary's off Glenwood Avenue about 3:30 a.m. That's when two men in a red GMC SUV parked behind them and approached their vehicle, according to an incident report from the Atlanta Police Department.

“[The 39-year-old victim] heard a knock on his driver side door. He thought it was from his friends but realized it was a male wearing a grey hoodie and holding a silver hand gun,” according to the incident report.

The suspect brandishing the gun demanded that the 39-year-old man surrender his personal belongings. When he refused, the suspect pistol-whipped him.

“Suspect #1 then hit [the victim] on his left side of his head with the handgun and demanded that he take off all his clothes,” according to the incident report.

The suspect repeated the demand several times before the victim tried to grab the robber's gun. A struggle took place and the victim was shot in his left leg.

As that unfolded, a second suspect approached the 27-year-old and took that man's iPhone.

After the 39-year-old man was shot, the two robbers fled in the SUV. The victims went inside Mary's as they waited for police. And that's where they were helped by Dax ExclamationPoint, the Atlanta queen who competed on Season 8 of “RuPaul's Drag Race.”

She was at the bar for a “Drag Race” viewing party earlier on Friday. according to New Now Next.

No arrests have been made in the shooting and robbery, but investigators are “exploring all leads in the case,” an Atlanta police spokesperson told Project Q Atlanta.

The getaway vehicle – described as a red GMC SUV – matched the description of a similar robbery and shooting that took place about 3 a.m. on East Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead, according to 11Alive.

In May 2013, armed suspects shot and killed Patrick Cotrona as he walked with Marcus Peden in East Atlanta. Peden, who is gay, was shot in the leg. Two months later, a Mary's patron was robbed at gunpoint after he left the bar.
