An HIV diagnosis isn’t often part of the over-sharing found on Facebook and Twitter. Now social network PositivelyFrisky is part of a safe, hopeful reality that Logo features in a new documentary, “Positive Youth.” The documentary airs June 19 on Logo, but you can watch “Positive Youth” online now to see its four inspirational stories of HIV infected or affected young men and women. The film follows their daily lives from positive/negative dating to the truth about medication and the realization that life isn't over with a positive diagnosis. Unfortunately, dealing with the stigma of being positive is also part of their reality. Austin Head, one of the youth featured in the film, serves as a segue to introduce PositivelyFrisky, an online community specifically for HIV-positive members of all ages to connect make new friends, be open about their status and find emotional support to confront the daily ups and downs of living with HIV. “Where HIV+ people were previously restricted to making friends in and about their local communities or within organizations for their advocacy, PositivelyFrisky.com allows these conversations to span oceans,” Head says in a prepared statement.
