For nearly seven minutes, gay Atlanta City Council member Alex Wan tried to sway colleagues to back his efforts to neuter Cheshire Bridge Road. With history. Some numbers. Even a little hyperbole. It didn't work.

But take a listen above to his speech on Monday. It came before the City Council voted down his controversial and "bold new approach" to forcing sex shops and strip shops off Cheshire Bridge. It's heartfelt even in defeat.
